Jefferson Hack is a singular creative force that has defined the leading edge of culture for more than a decade. He is an iconoclast embracing new and alternative media while continuing to push the frontier of print into progressive arenas.
His new book, We Can’t Do It Alone: Jefferson Hack the System, is an exploration of alternative media in the 21st century. It contains original artwork devised by Jefferson Hack and his collaborator Ferdinando Verderi, bringing to life 25 iconic quotes from Jefferson’s editorial career. The book includes contributions from cultural provocateurs, including Tilda Swinton, Rankin, Douglas Coupland, Björk, and Aimee Mullins.
Jefferson sought to create a book where each printed copy would offer a single, distinct cover. He and Rizzoli NY leveraged Kodak’s unique printing technology to create the 5,000 limited editions.
The KODAK PROSPER 6000 Press allowed Jefferson’s team to expand the design process with virtually infinite variability of cover designs while still enjoying the gloss paper stock and print quality to which they were accustomed.
This project highlights Kodak’s cutting-edge printing technology in astounding ways:
